Call for Staff - Affiliate News + Prompts

Hi everyone.

PennedPaper aims to help all writers to improve and to build a stronger literature community here on dA. As we are currently looking to increase our hands-on involvement in this we are asking for volunteers to join our staff!

Open Positions:
Prompts Admin -
Part of PennedPaper's desire to push writers to improve is challenging you all to experiment with genres and styles you may not normally write in. We want to run fortnightly prompts to help encourage you with this. We need someone to organise these. AlecWolfe used to post the prompts monthly but she has not had any time of late to do so - so if you are interested in taking on this position please send a note to either PennedPaper or to AlecWolfe.

Job Details:

• You will be asked to think up prompts for poetry and prose as well as other genres, including scripts and non-fiction. Other staff members will gladly help you with this - you'll be able to start forum threads in the back room asking for suggestions. Prompts will need to be more than a couple of words. They should require in-depth thought and a level of effort to complete.

• You will be required to write a blog every two weeks containing these prompts. You will, of course, have privileges to post group blogs.

• You will be responsible for keeping the 'Prompts' folder organised and seeing that any pieces accepted to it are appropriately referenced - it will be asked that anyone who completes a prompt and submits it to us abides by the rest of the group rules (including rules about the number of other group galleries the piece can be in at the time of submission to us) and includes the prompt, word count and group avatar in the 'Artists Comments'. AlecWolfe will assist to ensure this is done with all submissions.

Candidates don't need to have any experience but they do need to have the time for this - staffing for groups does consume a large amount of time. Please ensure you have enough time for this.


Affiliate News Blogger -
Due to time constraints, AlecWolfe finds it difficult to keep the Affilate News blog up-to-date with contest information, community happenings and other notable projects. So, we are calling for someone to take care of the blog.

Job Details:

• You will be asked to collect details of the contests our affiliates are running as well as those held by members of the literature community and official literature relevant dA contests. This includes details on voting as part of contest winner's selection.

• You will need to be watching prominent figures and groups in the literature community to be aware of when chat events and other relevant happenings are occurring. Details of these will need to be posted to the 'Affiliate News' blog.

• At times, we will ask you to contact our affiliate groups to ask if there is anything that they would like promoted.

• You will promote key persons and groups in the literature community (e.g. the literature GMs and DailyLitDeviations) through the 'Affiliate News' blog.

• You will provide information about suggesting literature DDs and DLDs and may be asked at times to specificly feature things like this through separate blogs.

• You will update the 'Affiliate News' blog at least once a week.

This is a time consuming staff position. Other members of the group staff will happily help you out with finding things to promote. You will be able to start forum threads in the back room asking for suggestions and AlecWolfe may at times add in certain happenings. Please be aware that this position really does requite a fair amount of dedication and time. If you would like to apply send either PennedPaper or AlecWolfe a note. You do not need to have any experience to do this job but you will need to be well aware of what is happening in the lit community.
